Obama vis a vis the minorities here.

So Obama won the election.

And now, for no good reason, many are thinking that what happened in the US is applicable here. They make their opinions known in the newspapers and other media without much thought to the facts of the matter.

America is a nation much much older than ours. Their history also, maybe also is much more bloodier than ours. The colonialist came and massacred the Red Indians. And then there was the War of Independence fought against the British. And then there was the Civil War.

They have been independent for 232 years, whilst our independence is less than 52 years. So how, relevant is Obama’s victory as compared against our history?

Obama as a person does not identify himself as an African (his father) and his mother is a white American. He has forsaken his father’s religion. He is a Christian, the religion of the land. He’s speaks American just as well any other American. He behaves like an American. He practices and abides by the custom and traditions of America and of course he is most of all is loyal to his country – USA.

Now, how is it the same about the Chinese and Indians here? If there is a Chinese or Indian here who is like Obama, I for one will surely vote for him as Prime Minister.
